School is back in session!!

Well school is officially back in session! It has been a fantastic start to a new year. I absolutely love love love the people that I work with. I am constantly faced with encouragement and support from my fellow teachers- such a blessing!

Here are a few pictures of my completed classroom...I worked hard to get some color on those white walls :)

We drew names for secret pals during the first week of school, and let me just say I have the absolute BEST secret pal. I was so encouaraged on my very first day with day with kids, to get a BEAUTIFUL plant sent to me from my secret pal! I can't wait to find out who it is :) Iv'e still got a while to wait though.

My mom helped me so so much with my room, and it would not have come together so quickly without her help. Thank you Momma:)

UPDATE

Per request of my NEWEST principal, Mrs. Libby Young, I am updating :)
My last blog 10 months ago said that I had gotten a job! I have loved my job at Lafayette this past year, and learned tons! But nothing thrills me more than knowing I am coming home. I graduated from North Pontotoc in 2005 and now I am getting to come back! I will be teaching 5th grade math at the new Upper Elementary, teaching under one of my favorite past teachers, Mrs. Young. I am super super excited!

I got a job!

YAY!!!! I got a job today! Such a blessing. It is for 3, 4, and 5th grade art teacher. This is not something that I had ever really even thought about doing before, but I am really excited! God has all sorts of things in store for us that we never plan for....I'm excited about about my future! A big plus for me with this job is that Lori Gardner is the asst. principle!

Happy 4th of July

We had an amazing 4th of July weekend! Evan and I left for Smith Lake on Saturday and didn't come home until Tuesday afternoon, it was a good break! My family along with the Mounce family and the Coleman family were all there. Evan and I both got a tad bit sun burnt...never fun. I always enjoy the week of the fourth though because it takes me back to where we came from- not sure if I think about it anymore than most, but i am truly thankful and always conscience of our soldiers- Especially after losing Blake. His death has been a constant reminder for me to always give thanks. I miss him dearly. Okay back to vacation... Usually the condo that we stay at is always great, this weekend it was rough....everything was broke, including the elevator!!! We stayed on the fourth floor and had to take the stairs all weekend. That wouldn't typically be that bad if you didn't have groceries and luggage to haul up and down all week....nightmare. Our blender, coffee pot, and microwave were also non functioning this weekend. This made life slightly difficult, but we had a blast with our friends and family. Definitely a fourth to remember!
